There are several ways in which we can win a charter for Austin Community School: 1) the Texas legislature raises the cap on charter schools in 2011 to give us more openings, 2) a charter closes, leaving an opening for us 3) ACC or UT agrees to open a charter, or 4) AISD agrees to open an in-district charter.

Here is how you can help:

1) Spread the word. Send people information about ACS. Link them to our website, our Facebook & Twitter accounts, or give them our flyer. Keep in mind that our content is in Spanish and English, so don’t hesitate to contact Spanish speakers.

2) Pledge or Donate. Any entity willing to work with a charter wants to see money in the bank or pledges for funds when the school opens. Keep in mind that a) we are a non-profit, so your donations are tax deductible and b) many companies match non-profit donations, so check with your employer. (Paypal bottom left) Send us an email with the amount you'd like to pledge. (It will be contingent on whether or not the school opens.)
