Mission, Vision & Philosophy

Our Mission

Austin Community School (ACS), through intercultural understanding and inquiry, will develop students to be life-long learners, who read, write, and speak two languages fluently. ACS students will be prepared for college, the workforce and will become contributing members of our global society.

Our Vision

Austin Community School will integrate, cultivate and develop our students’ awareness, and appreciation of cultures, community, languages, and learning.

Our Philosophy

Austin Community School believes in the development of the whole child. Students will be immersed in a high standard Dual Language International Baccalaureate (IB) educational program, which includes mastery of at least two languages. This rigorous program also ensures the personal development of every student’s unique creative ability in the arts, physical education, active community involvement and environmental stewardship.
ACS students will be prepared to adapt to the changing world by becoming dynamic and life-long learners. ACS students will develop their inner strengths, think across cultures, problem-solve and learn to work individually and cooperatively in groups. As a result they will gain self-confidence and become independent. As self-reliant leaders, ACS students will be prepared to face disparate challenges.
